Using our unmodified
stock plans, your can get a very accurate idea of the cost per
square foot to actually build. Since the changes to the stock
plan don't usually significantly change the construction price, your
church can proceed forward with the project knowing what the real
cost will be to build (not guess, conjecture or estimate).
Another huge benefit
is that of saving time. By having working drawings that
are probably 90% or more like what you are going to build, you
can begin the process of evaluating bids and selecting a
contractor or design/build firm much earlier in the process.
This is especially important if you are trying to fast track a
building program.
A picture is worth a thousand words. Our
concept drawings (like the ones you can
purchase here) are great tools for communication. Here
are a few of the areas where good concept drawings will aid the
process:
-
Providing vision
to the church and building committee. As we said, a
picture is worth a thousand words.
-
Providing a
catalyst for design discussion. The concept document
gives your church a good starting point to discuss the needs
of the church, what they like and need and what they don't.
-
Provides a
"drawing pad" on which the church can sketch modifications
for communicating to the architect
-
Capital
Stewardship Campaign.
A good church floor plan can help communicate the vision of the
future church and is a great way to help raise excitement
and financial support for a building program. (see example
below)

For some of our
floor plans, we also have renderings that are available for a
small
extra fee. Color renderings turn 2 dimensional line
drawings into photo realistic color "pictures". The example
at left uses both color renderings and the church floor plan
Color renderings are
especially effective in capital campaign programs as many people
have a difficult time relating to a two dimensional floor plan
or elevation.
A color rendering is
often used in one or more of the communication pieces for the
capital campaign, such as the one to the right.
